The year that was 2017
Chronicles of a Makeup Artist...
I want to share what I got up to last year. I had some amazing opportunities and going through my work made me reflect back on the year in my business, the time I had (did I use it wisely? did I make the most of what I had? could I have done more or something different?) and connections made. I had a quiet year professionally, I didn't push myself too far out of my comfort zone in terms of the volume of projects I did, though a couple of shoots definitely pushed me out of my safe space.
The models I have featured are amazing creatures because they are beautiful, inside and out and I had fun connecting with them and all the teams I was lucky to work alongside on these projects.
The last two haven't been published yet, hence the BTS (behind the scenes) shots but you get a glimpse of the idea.. It's interesting looking at this all in one place, five years into my beauty career and though this was not every shoot I did, I was proud of the work produced alongside these teams.

Thank you for staying with me as I reflect on the year that was. I came across this quote recently which resonated with me: You can bring your past with you but you can never go back. You have to leave yourself behind.. Gaga
All the things I've learnt through the year from not only the education I went and did for my business but each shoot I've done as well, comes with me on the next one and as I evolve my artistry and my business, there are parts that I have to leave behind. And I do leave behind. The part of me that started on this journey in the world of beauty. The part that doubts and says "can I do it?". That girl gets left behind.
Peace, love & light
