International Makeup Artist Trade Show (IMATS)

Chronicles of a Makeup Artist...

First of all, I would like to thank everyone who came to IMATS and called past and said hello. Touching base with my peers as well as people I admire and look up to was awesome. I'm incredibly grateful for the support we received from everyone. Truly, my husband and I were completely blown away by everyone we spoke to. THANK YOU.

So for those not in the beauty industry, recently here in Sydney we set up a booth for The Makeup Light (TML) at IMATS. I have to say, meeting so many amazing Pro artists, students, aspiring Pro's and everyone else in between was fantastic and such a cool adventure!

 Before the madness begins..

We were lucky enough to have help in the form of Kat McAndrews, who not only is a talented makeup artist up in Brisbane but she knows everyone and just about everything! Kat was such an asset to our TML team because she also uses TML and understands light, how it works and affects makeup. Between Kat, myself and my husband (who wasn't quite sure what hit him!) we rocked out the whole weekend making lots of new friends and talking about these amazing lights we sell to everyone we could.

I think one of the best parts of IMATS, was people were able to touch, see and play with the lights first hand. Kat rocked out some amazing makeup applications in our booth using the lights so it was good for people to see the difference TML makes in real life. And another winner of the weekend was taking selfie's using TML.. Best ever!!! Haha!

Another cool part of IMATS for me personally, was a few of the people in the industry we got to meet, behind the scenes. Our booth was set up beside Cozzette, a brand that is synomamous with high quality vegan brushes, gorgeous eye shadows and blushes, aromatherapy brush cleaner.. this is long list of amazing products, you should check them out if you haven't already. Roque himself, was sweet as pie and so much fun! He gave us lots of laughs over the weekend and we, in turn provided some Aussie humour, Sydney insight and an extra light to shine onto his gorgeous range of shadows. I loved being able to point out TML in his booth and how it was attached with an EZ Clamp to the pole. Another way for people to see how to use their TML and accessories in many different ways.

We also met the amazing Danessa Myricks, who I've been a long time fan of. I bought some of Danessa's enlight and halo powders, last year and have been obsessed with all things Danessa ever since. I use them in most of my makeup applications that I do and everyone always asks me "what is that?". Let's just say that a majority of my spending money went to Danessa's booth! Whilst Danessa was on stage doing a live demo, we also supplied her with a TML on a stand to really highlight her amazing skin work that she's known for. It was a cool moment for me, not going to lie!

Another artist I met and admire is Becca Gilmartin. I saw her in the Laud booth, finishing up the details on her work she was presenting at IMATS and it was phenomenal to watch her in action. Her artistic talent, precision with design and execution really was something to see. I love that she can go between the most amazing beauty looks to something totally abstract that is a walking piece of art. An amazing and talented Australian Makeup Artist!

In between chatting with all these talented artists I look up to, I was most happy to be talking all things TML to everyone that came past our booth. We heard so many times how excited someone was when they saw that TML was going to be at IMATS. This felt like an affirmation to us, that we were on the right track supporting a brand that I know, use and love, something that I believe in so much, I've aligned my name to TML as an Australian reseller. To be able to show everyone how to use them in real life situations, to discuss the endless solutions that TML have come up with and no doubt still trying to come up with, was exciting to say the least. We barely stopped for the whole weekend, we had that much support from everyone. It was awesome to see and be a part of.

So once again, really from the bottom of our hearts, BIG THANKS to each and every one of you who made our weekend special by supporting this amazing brand too. It was fantastic to meet everyone!

If you have any questions please feel free to email me. If you haven't already, check out all the different ways I use my light on my TML Instagram, Chronicles of a Makeup Artist.

Looking forward to doing it all over again, next year! Hopefully we'll see you there.

Peace, love & light
